Control Modules
Daniels Digital Control Modules route audio and other signals within the radio system. These modules are constructed with anodized aluminum and stainless steel hardware and all circuit boards are glass epoxy construction with gold plated module connectors. Digital Base Control Card (CI-BC-4E-00)Please see the PDF technical note to view more information about the Digital Base Control Card (CI-BC-4E-00). Digital Repeater Card (CI-RC-4L-00)Please see the PDF technical note to view more information about the Digital Repeater Card (CI-RC-4L-00).

Control OptionsAudio control options give the operator a number of ways to control the radio. Daniels currently manufactures: CTSS encoder/decoders, DTMF decoders, two-tone sequential decoders, sequential encoders, burst tone decoders, digitally controlled squelch encoder/decoders, CTCSS rotary encoder/decoders, and two 16 channel rotary frequency switches. The audio control options operate from -40° C to + 60° C, are mounted internally on Daniels AC-3x series of control cards and can be configured for wide ranging radio control functions. CTCSS Encoder - Operates between 67 and 255 Hz (±.01Hz). The tone output is a low distortion sine wave with a variable setting from 0 - 2 Vdc. The encoder draws approximately 5 mA. CTCSS Decoder/Encoder - Operates between 67 and 255 Hz (±.01Hz). The tone output is a low distortion sine wave with a variable setting from 0 - 2 Vdc. The decoder / encoder draws approximately 14 mA. The tone is selected on a BCD DIP switch. The encode and decode tones are not selected separately. A separate encoder must be purchased to use different tones. DTMF Decoder - The subminiature DTMF decoder will respond to an address of 2 to 4 digits in length using any of the 16 DTMF characters. The decoder incorporates Group, All Call and Remote Reset features. The DTMF decoder draws 12 mA. Two-Tone Sequential Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to group call formats of F1 or F2. The decoder is continuously tunable on any tone frequency over a specified range. This decoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats. The decoder draws 8 mA. Sequential Tone Encoder - generates selectable tones for tone protected base stations. The encoder is continuously tunable on frequencies over a specified range (300 Hz to 3kHz). This encoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats and is capable of sending F1 and F2 formats. The encoder draws 8 mA. Burst Tone Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to "Burst Tones" or "Single Tone" formats. The decoder is continuously tunable on any tone frequency over a specified range. This decoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats. The decoder draws 8 mA. Digitally Coded Squelch - Encoder / Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to 23 bit DCS code words. PCB jumpering allows easy programming for the DCS code, RX / TX polarity, and Mute functions. Squelch tail elimination is controlled by an end of transmission turn off code. The decoder draws 10 mA. CTCSS Rotary Switch - Decode Tone - This switch option for the AC-3x series of cards allows the user to select up to 10 front panel controlled decode tones. All standard CTCSS tones may be selected internally, however only 10 may be controlled via the rotary switch. CTCSS Rotary Switch - Decode / Encode Tone - This switch option for the AC-3x series of cards allows the user to select up to 10 front panel controlled decode tones. All standard CTCSS tones may be selected internally, however only 10 may be controlled via the rotary switch. 16 Channel Frequency Select Rotary Switch - This option for the AC-3x series of cards allows the user to select up to 16 front panel controlled receiver and transmitter frequencies pairs. This option may alternately be configured to control just one RF module. 16 Channel Frequency Select Rotary Switches - This option for the AC-3x series of cards allows the user to select up to 16 front panel controlled receiver and transmitter frequencies independently via two rotary switches.
Daniels has developed the trunking controller software
using Solaris to provide a robust reliable operating system for managing critical
public safety communications. The software for the trunking controller contains
a number of Graphical User Interface (GUI) screens to support trunking controller
programming, operation and maintenance. Typical GUI screens are show below. The
main window will enable the programming of the key trunking controller parameters
including:
· Port - IP communication port dedicated to communication with the GUI · IP - IP Address of Trunking Controller · Connect - establishes connection between the GUI and the Trunking Controller. · Save - saves communication parameters only. · Exit - closes connection between the GUI and the Trunking Controller
After establishing connection between the GUI and the Trunking Controller, the Status Window is opened. The Status Window enables monitoring of the status of Trunking Channels and Subscriber Units. Channel and Unit associated events are recorded into an events list.
The Standalone Five Channel Trunking Controller supports the following key features:
1.
Programming
a.
Registration of Portables
b.
Authentication
2.
Operation
a.
Traffic Channel Assignment
b.
All Trunks Busy Reports
c.
Automatic Control Channel Redundancy
3.
Maintenance
a.
RF Alarms and Failures
b.
Call Records
