DANIELS ElectronIcs Joint Venture Agreement in the Philippines Wins First order from Electric Utility

 

Victoria, BC, Canada – April 6, 2009 – Daniels Electronics Ltd., a leading international supplier of high reliability radio base stations and repeaters for public safety and natural resource applications, today announced it has received its first order from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) formerly called Transco, the National Electric Transmission company in the Philippines. Daniels in conjunction with its local partner Okuda Sangyo Philippines entered into a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) in August 2008 to pursue sales in the Philippines . Today's announcement marks the successful first step in that Joint Venture.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines , the concessionaire of Transco, is a former government-owned and controlled corporation created in 2001 by the Electric Power Industry Reform Act. http://www.transco.ph/aboutus.asp It is responsible for electrical transmission functions which include the planning, construction and centralized operation and maintenance of high-voltage transmission facilities, grid interconnections and ancillary services.

Daniels Electronics and Okuda Sangyo Philippines will provide a number of radio systems to be , used in the modernization, upgrading and expansion of NGCP's private radio network used in support of day to day operations and maintenance of transmission facilities across the power grid’s nation wide network.
