DANIELS ELECTRONICS AND TWISTED PAIR SOLUTIONS
ANNOUNCE
REVOLUTIONARY INTEGRATION OF P25 AND NON-P25
RADIO NETWORKS
Victoria, B.C. Canada - August 22, 2005– Daniels Electronics Ltd., is pleased to announce in conjunction with Twisted Pair Solutions, Inc. that the Daniels Universal Interface Card (UIC), with the Twisted Pair Solutions WAVE™ application suite is now commercially available, enabling digital integration between legacy radios, the PSTN, mobile phones, IP Phones, Windows™ PCs and APCO Project 25 (P25) two-way radio systems. This revolutionary integration provides the ultimate in flexibility and low cost of ownership with the highest level of interoperability. Public safety agencies no longer have to endure expensive gateway, router or radio upgrades to achieve interoperability within and across agencies.
The Daniels UIC provides a digital interface between the Daniels P25 LMR radio system and a customer’s IP network. Bi-directional data and digital audio are now integrated with open standards based IP networks via WAVE allowing for broader radio interoperability and richer collaboration.
“Daniels is very pleased to be able to offer this level of interoperability in conjunction with Twisted Pair Solutions”, said Gerry Wight, Marketing Director at Daniels Electronics Ltd. “WAVE extends our P25 system into an IP network enabling agencies to communicate together when responding jointly to emergencies.”
With the commercial release of the Daniels UIC, WAVE is now able to extend the enhanced features and functionality of IP communications to P25 customers. Public Safety agencies can quickly achieve radio interoperability between P25 and legacy radios as well as connect across agencies for efficient multi-agency responses. WAVE is an open standards based software solution built on IP unleashing customers from expensive proprietary hardware solutions for interoperability. WAVE’s software based dispatch console also leverages the unique capabilities of IP-based communications systems and P25 capabilities such as unit identifiers, GPS location, data transmission, and Over the Air Re-keying (OTAR).
“Connecting P25 systems to the IP world delivers tremendous business value to our partners and customers. Whether our customers have an all P25 network and want rich IP collaboration like software based dispatch or they have a mixed P25 and legacy network and want radio interoperability, WAVE and the Daniels UIC together deliver exactly what our customers need,” said Will Cousins, Director of Product Management at Twisted Pair Solutions.
