INTRODUCE A DIGITAL P25 ETHERNET INTERFACE
Victoria, B.C. Canada - October 18, 2005– Daniels Electronics Ltd., a leading supplier of high reliability LMR radio equipment, and Pantel International Inc, a leading Canadian manufacturer of radio communication equipment, specializing in console and control systems for mobile radio, today jointly announced the launch of a Digital Ethernet Interface between their products enabling direct digital connection from the P25 digital radio to IP-based dispatch consoles.
The Daniels digital Universal Interface card (UIC), provides a digital Ethernet connection from the Daniels MT-4 P25 radio system to other LMR subsystems such as IP-based dispatch consoles in a P25 network. In accordance with the TIA APCO P25 general system model, this interface interconnects the Fixed Station (Daniels Radio) to a Console or RF subsystem at the Ef connection. This interface provides digital audio, new features and greater connectivity between P25 subsystems.

The digital Ethernet Universal interface provides Daniels customers with access to all of the Daniels P25 base station’s signals through an Ethernet interface. This provides additional functionality compared with the analog offering currently supported on Daniels radios via the Auxiliary interface. The UIC interfaces with RF Subsystems and console equipment, enabling 3rd parties access to a wide-range of signals, controls and functionalities that already exist on our radio modules.
The InterTalk™ console and control system manufactured by Pantel is widely used by Public Safety, Transportation and Utility organizations throughout Canada and around the world. InterTalk’s advanced capabilities and feature set make it the ideal console system to work with Daniel’s UIC. With its extensive use of digital signal processing techniques, its fully scalable interfacing capabilities and its standard high speed architecture, InterTalk is a natural fit for P25 systems.
