Daniels new briefcase repeater (shown to the right) initially announced at IWCE in April has now entered commercial production with a delivery time of 10 weeks. The briefcase repeater offers a complete radio solution in a compact briefcase that can be carried by one person. The briefcase repeater uses standard Daniels modules thus allowing it to operate in either analog (Lowband, VHF, UHF or 800 MHz frequency bands) or P25 digital mode (VHF or UHF frequency bands). Included in the package is a 8.5 A-H battery, AC-DC power supply with battery charging circuit, 2 MHz separation duplexer and optional 30W PA if configured as a base station. For additional information please refer to our website:
The Daniels Digital Ethernet Universal Interface Card (UIC) (shown to the right) provides a digital Ethernet connection from the Daniels MT-4 P25 radio system to other LMR subsystems in a P25 network. The UIC is now shipping commercially in conjunction with our 3 partners (Catalyst, Twisted Pair and Telex).
In accordance with the TIA APCO P25 general system model, this interface interconnects the Fixed Station (Daniels Radio) to a Console or RF subsystem at the E f connection. This interface provides digital audio, new features and greater connectivity between P25 subsystems. The new Universal interface provides Daniels customers with access to all of the Daniels P25 base station’s signals through an Ethernet interface. This provides additional functionality compared with the analog offering currently supported on Daniels radios via the Auxiliary interface. Full details on the UIC are available on the Daniels website at the following URL:

Once again the weather is beginning to change, the leaves are changing colour and business is returning to the regular routine. Here at Daniels the summer didn’t seem to slow down very much and we are looking forward to an exciting Fall.
Interoperability is a hot word in our industry and over the past few newsletters we have shared with you substantial enhancements in our product portfolio to facilitate interoperability. Recently at APCO in Denver we showed some of these solutions including the Omnitronics Audio Bridge from Australia, our new Briefcase Repeater which is now in commercial production and most exciting of all the Digital Ethernet interface of the Universal Interface Card (UIC). We are very pleased to see that product in commercial production with our initial three partners of Catalyst, Twisted Pair and Telex.
In the coming months we will be further enhancing our product line in response to your requirements and look forward to sharing those developments with you in a future issue.
